The Borgward Hansa 2400 was an executive six-cylinder saloon presented in 1951, and manufactured by the Bremen based auto-manufacturer Carl F. W. Borgward GmbH from 1952 until 1959. No 2400 has yet been made of the Borgward Hansa 1954 from 1400. The car had a number of convincing negatives outside of its qualities. And very few have survived. 62 Years after its birth, the unrestored Borgward with its delicious patina still proves to be top quality. The interior shows only one wear spot on the back of the driver's seat.

In 1938, Borgward opened a modern new factory in Bremen, Germany. But in 1939, Borgward was forced to shift production to trucks and military vehicles. In 1944, the Bremen factory was destroyed by Allied bombs, and in 1945, Carl Borgward was arrested and served three years in prison for aiding the Nazis. The Hansa 2400 fastback came out in 1952.

Undeterred, Borgward supplemented the Hansa 2400 with the longer wheelbase Pullman in 1953, a three-box version with a more conventional roofline and its rear doors hinged on the centre pillar rather than the C-post. With its servo brakes, the Pullman banished the fastback Hansa 2400 (sometimes called the Sport) after 743 had been built.

The Hansa 2400 fastback came out in 1952, used Borgward's 2.4-liter, 82-bhp, inline Six, giving a top speed of 93 MPH. A notchback on a longer wheelbase appeared in 1953, and the line continued through 1959.. Borgward campaigned Hansa RS1500 racers in 1952-54 and 1958. Engines delivered 154 bhp from 1.4 liters. RS1500s ran against Porsches.
